Family Communication 3/20

Family Communication
Posted on 03/20/2020
EPS LogoPanthers,

In a situation like the one we find ourselves in, there is lots of information communicated with grown-ups, but often not enough directly shared with kids.  Here is a link to a video that is intended to change that.  Thank you for sharing with your child(ren).

In addition to the phone calls we are making, we plan to continue communicating with families each week day.  We will use this regular electronic communication as a way to share timely information and updates, as well as, connect you with resources, quotes, and other ideas.

Today’s resource is Mo Willems.  The amazingly creative author of the Elephant & Piggie series and much more invites YOU into his studio every day for his LUNCH DOODLE.  Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing by visiting Mo’s studio virtually once a day for the next few weeks.  Grab some paper and pencils, pens, or crayons and join Mo to explore ways of writing and making together. If you post your art to social media, be sure to hashtag it with #MoLunchDoodles!  New episodes will be posted each weekday at 1:00 p.m. ET and then remain online to be streamed afterwards.  Check back each weekday for new LUNCH DOODLES!  Click the link for more information and resources.

As was shared yesterday, our team is finalizing our plans for e-learning and extended learning at home should we not be able to come back to school in the next few weeks.  While this is still an uncertainty for all schools, we want to be as proactive in planning as possible.  Our team is working hard to ensure a model that is impacting, well-rounded, and equitable for all students and families.  You will be receiving additional information over spring break as to what you and your child can expect.

We will be responding to the questions that were shared with us from families very soon.  Until tomorrow, be well!

In partnership,
The East Prairie Team
