EAST PRAIRIE SCHOOL

Operating procedures prevail at each East Prairie School Board meeting. The Board of Education uses a consent agenda as part of these meetings, allowing the Board to approve more than one item as a slate, rather than each item separately. These items are typically routine in nature. Following consent items, the Board moves on to the consideration of any other resolutions that have typically been discussed previously.

The Skokie School District 73 Board of Education welcomes public participation within its meetings and appreciates the community's interest and attendance.  Audience participation is encouraged to provide input during the meetings when a topic is being discussed.  When addressing the Board, individuals should give their name and address and, if representing a group, indicate the group represented. The usual time limitation to speak is five minutes for each individual or delegation. The Board does not engage in discussions with the public, but instead will respond in an appropriate manner. The input of ideas from the public to the School Board is encouraged at two specific points during a business meeting.

The Board also holds discussion meetings on pertinent topics, and time for audience input is set aside at the end of each meeting. No action is taken at these open discussions. Items presented and discussed at these meetings may be voted upon at the next general business meeting.
