Procedures
Pre K and Kindergarten students visit the library for 30 minutes one day a week. The children hear age-appropriate read aloud selections and check out one book with time for silent reading. Check out periods are one week with the opportunity to renew selections. Children do not pay fines on overdue materials.
First and Second grade students visit the library for 30 minutes one day a week. The children hear age-appropriate read aloud selections and check out two items including book, magazines, and big books. Check out periods are one week with the opportunity to renew selections. Students do not pay fines on overdue materials.
Third through 5th grade students visit the library for 40 minutes one day a week. The children hear age-appropriate read aloud selections and check out three items including books, Play-aways, magazines, and videos/DVD’s, with time for silent reading. Check out periods are two weeks with the opportunity to renew selections. Students pay a $.05 a school day fine on overdue materials.
The 6th through 8th grade students visit the library as needed for material check-out, small group and independent research and work as needed for their core classes. Students may check out at least three items with a check out period of two weeks. Students pay a fine of $.05 per school day on overdue materials.
